Amy Lovely

Hometown: Concord, New Hampshire.  Amy holds a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Hampshire in Earth Science Education. She is set to graduate with her Masters in Broadcast Meteorology on May 6th, 2017. She had an internship at WCBI in Columbus MS from May 2016-August 2016. James Bryant

Hometown: North Little Rock, Arkansas. James has been pursuing a career in meteorology since he was very young. Growing up in Arkansas he was no stranger to extreme weather events such as tornadoes and snowstorms that fueled his passion. He is a senior professional meteorology student at Mississippi State University with a concentration in broadcasting and is expected to graduate in December 2017. He interned in Little Rock, AR at THV11 for morning meteorologist Tom Brannon during the summer of 2015 and 2016. James is very well-versed in severe weather forecasting due to experiences recently and the many hours he devotes to storm chasing. As of January 2016, he is currently working at WVUA 23 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama as a rotating weekend meteorologist. You can contact him at bryantweather@gmail.com.

Griffin Hardy

Hometown: Milton, Georgia.  Griffin is a professional meteorology major at Mississippi State University with an emphasis in broadcasting and a minor in communication.  His previous experience includes working as a part-time on-air meteorologist at WCBI-TV from September 2016 to the present in Columbus, Mississippi & working as a weather intern/weather producer at WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia during the summer of 2016.  His expected date of graduation is May 6th, 2017.  You can contact Griffin at gh510@msstate.edu.

Brooke Laizer

Hometown: New Orleans, Louisiana. You can contact Brooke at  brookelaizerwx@gmail.com.  She will graduate in May 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Geosciences, with a concentration in Professional Broadcast Meteorology and a minor in Communication.  Her internship experiences include working with FOX8 WVUE’s “Your Weather Authority” in New Orleans, LA from May 2014 to August 2015 and ABC7 WJLA’s “StromWatch7” in Washington, DC from June 2016 to August 2016.

Rebeca Velazquez

Hometown: Vicksburg, MS. Rebeca is currently studying Spanish and Geosciences with a concentration in Broadcast Meteorology.  She will graduate with her degree (Broadcast Meteorology) in May 2017 and her degree in Spanish July 2017. She interned at WCBI in Columbus, MS the summer of 2016 where she learned better forecasting tips and how to build unique graphics from scratch. Rebeca can be contacted at rav43@msstate.edu.
